FREE Crochet Owl Coffee Cup Cozy Pattern

Today I finally have for y'all the long awaited owl coffee cup cozy!
I know it's been almost forever since I've posted anything, but hopefully,
I will be posting more original patterns and some more pattern reviews soon... and more consistently!
So here's the pattern!

Supplies:
•H/5.00mm crochet hook
•Worsted weight yarn in various colors. (I used Lion Brand Vanna's Choice Yarn in Barley, a light blue, a light yellow and some white.)
•Small black buttons. (Mine were about 1 cm in diameter.)
•Yarn needle
•Coffee cup. (I'm adding this to say I found mine at the Dollar Tree.)

Pattern Notes:
•When you start a round chain 1 does not count as a stitch. :)

Pattern Instructions:

Cozy Base: (Make 1)
(I started with light blue.)
Chain 32 or enough to fit tightly around your cup. (without having to stretch it too much.)

Rnd 1: sc in 1st ch creating a ch loop and in every ch around.  (Be sure not to twist the ch)
Sl st to first sc.

Rnd 2: ch 1 and sc in each st around. Sl st to first sc.

Rnds 3-5: repeat rnd 2. At the end of rnd 5, Sl at to first sc using the next color. (I used Barley at this point.)

Rnds 6-12: repeat rnd 2.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Eyes: (Make 2)
With first color: (blue)
Rnd 1: MR and ch 1. Make 6 sc in ring and Sl st to first sc with next color. (White)

Rnd 2: ch 1 and make 2 sc in each at around. Sl st to first sc and fasten off leaving a long enough tail to sew eye to base.
Weave in all ends but the long one for sewing.

Owl Nose: (Make 1)
With 4th color: (yellow)
Ch 4. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next, DC in last ch. fasten off leaving a tail long enough to see onto the owl base.

See all 3 appliqués onto the base using the photo as a guide. And tie off.

Owl Ears: (Make 2)
Using colors 1&2, cut two 6-inch strands of each and using a slip knot, fasten them onto the top of the owl base using the picture as a guide.
I put mine in place having 13 stitches in between them.

And that's it! You now have an owl coffee cup cozy! I hope you enjoyed this pattern!
If you did, be sure to check back often for new ones and follow me on Google!

Here are a few other coffee cozies I have designed/made from other designers.
